Within the scope of Open Day events, Istanbul Gelisim University's (IGU) Faculty of Applied Sciences introduced its departments to high school students. During the events held on June 11-12, the Faculty of Applied Sciences organized various workshops and offered high school students the opportunity to get to know their departments closely. High school students participated in the workshops and received detailed information about the faculty's programs and academic staff. They also learned about the social and cultural activities of the university and gained awareness about IGU's student support services and campus life. High school students who participated in the Open Day events expressed that they were very pleased with the workshops offered by the Faculty of Applied Sciences and getting to know the faculty, while gaining important information about university life. In addition, the students, who had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the academic staff during the events, stated that they were able to shape their future education and career plans more clearly by benefiting from the experiences of the faculty members.
"Banking and Insurance Student Colloquium-IV" and "BS Academic Colloquium-V" were organized by FoAS Banking and Insurance Department on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 in order to exchange ideas in order to increase the quality of academic studies. In the fifth of the "BS Academic Colloquium" organized for FoAS academicians, Head of the Department of Banking and Insurance Assoc. Prof. Hakan ÖZCAN, Asst. Prof. Ayşegül ERTUĞRUL and Asst. Prof. Tayfun TİMURAY contributed to the colloquium by giving information about their academic studies. Department students had the opportunity to exchange ideas with the participation of Department Head Assoc. Prof. Hakan ÖZCAN, Asst. Prof.Ayşegül ERTUĞRUL, Asst. Prof. Tayfun TİMURAY and Res. Asst. İlknur KÜLEKÇİ.
Semih AYDOĞAN presented the status of the TUBITAK 2209-A project titled "A Study on TCIP Insurance Penetration after the 6.2.2023 Earthquake", which continues under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Hakan ÖZCAN. In addition, two new project teams under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Hakan ÖZCAN made their presentations within the scope of the colloquium. Semanur TAŞKIN (Executive Director), Berfin YILMAZ (Researcher), Mert FIRAR (Researcher) presented their TUBITAK 2209-A projects titled "A Study on the Impact of Climate Change on Livestock Insurance and Insurance Penetration in Turkey 2014-2023" and Ege MANDACI (Executive Director), Nazlı SIMAV (Researcher), Beyzanur KÖKSAL (Researcher) presented their TUBITAK 2209-A projects titled "A Study on the Impact of Climate Change on Agricultural Insurance and Insurance Penetration in Turkey 20142023".
