On December 12, 2023, the III. Banking and Insurance Student Symposium, which has the opportunity to participate online and face-to-face, aims to actively involve undergraduate students in the learning process and contribute to the sustainability of quality education.
FAS Banking and Insurance Department Head Assoc. Prof. Hakan ÖZCAN, Assoc. Prof. Lokman KANTAR and Assist. Prof. Ayşegül ERTUĞRUL, the ongoing TUBITAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects were presented.
FAS Electronic Commerce and Management Department faculty members Assoc. Prof. Ali ÇELİK and Assist. Prof. Onur TÜRKER made presentations on the TUBİTAK 2209-A projects for which applications were made.
Assoc. Prof. Hakan ÖZCAN, Assoc. Prof. Mete BUMİN, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayşegül ERTUĞRUL and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tayfun TİMURAY moderated the sessions and presented the participation certificates to the presenters at the end of the sessions. The owners of the five best papers were announced specially for the third symposium.
The Best Paper Award was given to İrem KARAHAN for her paper titled "Investigation of the Causality Relationship between Bitcoin and Exchange Rate in Turkey" by Assoc. Prof. Sevinç KOÇAK, Vice Dean of FAS.
Assist. Prof. Görsev SÖNMEZ, Vice Dean of FAS., presented the Second Best Paper Award to Rozerin ABDÜSSEMETOĞLU, Yaren EROĞLU, and Melisa ÖZHİM for their paper titled "Analysis of the Performance of the Turkish Banking Sector in Pre and Post Pandemic Periods based on Bank Groups".
The Third Best Paper award was given by Assoc. Prof. Hakan ÖZCAN, Head of the Department of Banking and Insurance to Ferhat TÜNÇER, Gül ÖZDEMİR, and Mustafa BİLGİN for their paper titled "Investigation of the Relationship between BIST 100 Index and Gold Prices in the Context of Portfolio Approach".
The Fourth Best Paper award was given to Semanur TURHAN and Bahar ATAYOĞLU for their paper titled "Asset Development of the Turkish Banking Sector 2018-2022 An Application on Participation Banking" and the Fifth Best Paper award was given to Ferhat TÜNÇER, Gül ÖZDEMİR and Mustafa BİLGİN for their paper titled "Investigation of the Relationship between Financial Risk and Enterprise Value: An Application on Sustainability Index" by Simge BOSTAN and Beyza KÖKSAL.
