What is the purpose of the Public Relations and Advertising Department?

Our department graduates; They can work in various sectors such as advertising and public relations agencies, media and communication companies, public institutions, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, newspapers, television channels and radio stations.
 
Is there an opportunity to do an internship in the department? What are the internship opportunities?
Yes. Internships in the Department of Public Relations and Advertising are carried out for a total of 30 working days in the summer months after the second semester. Regular education students who do not have to attend the courses they are registered for can also do their internships during the academic semesters. Our students are supervised by the coordinator instructor throughout the internship process.
 
In which sectors can I work after graduation?
Graduates of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising can pursue a career in a wide range of business fields. For example, they may work in the public sector, such as government agencies, municipalities, or utility providers. In the private sector, they can work in advertising agencies, media organizations, communication departments or marketing departments of large companies. Additionally, non-profit organizations, non-governmental organizations and consulting firms are among other sectors where they can shape their careers.
 
What kind of projects and practical applications are carried out in your department?
Students of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising have the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with various projects and practical applications. Students can put various communication strategies into practice in project-based courses or special workshops held in the department.

Can I study abroad with Erasmus?
Yes. Our department has agreements with various universities abroad. There may be differences in application requirements for each academic year. Therefore, current conditions are stated in the announcement text announced for the relevant academic year. However, the general principles are below:
The student must be at least a sophomore in the semester in which he/she will participate in the program and must have at least 30 ECTS equivalent courses before graduation.
The GPA must be at least 2.20/4.00 at the Associate/Undergraduate level and at least 2.50/4.00 at the Master's and Doctoral levels.
 
Are there any workshops in the Department of Public Relations and Advertising where students can put theoretical knowledge into practical practice?
Our university's Department of Public Relations and Advertising has a modern and student-oriented physical education environment. The campus where our department is located offers modern classroom and laboratory facilities. While our students receive education supported by current technologies in interactive classrooms, they have the opportunity to develop their practical skills in specially designed workshops and study areas. These areas of study are; Design Workshop, drawing workshops, computer laboratories (8 Laboratories), innovative studio, basic art workshop, applied communication workshop, printing workshop, plateau - RTV Studio keyboard Spss computer laboratory, workshop hall.
 
Is there a double major (double major) opportunity in the Public Relations and Advertising department?
Istanbul Gelişim University offered the double major program to its students free of charge. Students who have a GPA of 2.72 out of 4.00 in their major program and who are in the 20% success bracket in their undergraduate/associate degree program can start their second major diploma program free of charge. Students who successfully complete the double major program and are entitled to two undergraduate degrees are awarded two undergraduate diplomas.
