Dear Students,

 

Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Applied Sciences started its academic activities as the School of Applied Sciences with 6 departments in the 2013-2014 academic year. With the President's Decision published in the Official Gazette dated 25 June 2021 and numbered 31522, the School of Applied Sciences was closed and the Faculty of Applied Sciences was established.

Our faculty carries out the openings of departments by closely following the areas needed in the business world, developments in the world and newly emerging occupational groups. There are 12 departments in our faculty. 9 departments of our faculty, whose aim is internationalization in education, have been accredited by the German accreditation institution AQAS (Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programs), and accreditation studies are continuing in 3 newly opened departments. Within the scope of accreditation studies; Our faculty has been certified by an independent institution, which is a member of the European Quality Assurance Association, that it provides education in accordance with European standards and principles.

 

The curriculum of each department is meticulously prepared and implemented by academics who closely follow the developments in their fields, in line with the internationalization strategy of our university. Our faculty, which makes a difference with its applied education, equips young generations, the guarantee of our future, with theoretical and practical knowledge that will enable them to be successful in the sector they work in. Our faculty has adopted the mission of raising creative individuals who can transfer theoretical knowledge into practice, who are researcher, innovative, have the ability to follow and interpret the developments in the field, are compatible with teamwork, are aware of their responsibilities, respect ethical rules, have awareness of universal values, care about the benefit of society.

Our faculty believes that the participation of internal and external stakeholders plays an important role in achieving and maintaining the quality in education, research and administrative processes. Seminars, meetings, congresses, etc., organized by various organizations both within and outside the university. Our students who participate in the activities develop socially and culturally, increase their self-expression skills and self-confidence, have up-to-date professional knowledge and gain a visionary perspective.

 

In our faculty, where theoretical and applied knowledge transfer is carried out successfully, internship programs are organized for our students, where they have the opportunity to apply what they have learned during the education process in practical life. In addition, our students who want to continue their education abroad, improve themselves and gain experience abroad can study at a university abroad with the International Student Mobility Program Erasmus+, so they have the opportunity to get to know different cultures.
