The International Student Orientation, held on October 3, 2025, in the C Block kitchen area of our university, turned into a vibrant and enjoyable event that brought together students from different countries. The event allowed new international students to get to know the university better and make friends from different cultures. As part of the program, students were provided with detailed information about campus life, academic units, and student clubs. The Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department also played an active role in the preparation of the orientation, organized by the International Relations Unit. Department students participated in the catering arrangements, serving refreshments to the guests and enriching the program with presentations of cuisines from different cultures. The orientation, notable for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, received high marks from the participants.
At the event, the traditional Uzbek pilaf (pilaf) and samsa prepared by guest chefs from Uzbekistan were highly praised for their visual presentation and authentic taste. Students from different countries shared the joy of sharing their local flavors and the excitement of gathering around the same table.
The Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department's contribution to the event reinforced Istanbul Gelişim University's applied, project-based, and creative education approach, effectively reflecting student productivity and academic advising. The department faculty members involved in the event
