Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Applied Sciences, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts brought students together with Far Eastern cuisine as part of the World Cuisine Practices course. The event was held on 7 April 2025 at the G Block Application Kitchen in cooperation with Ekol Food. Lecturer İbrahim Levent Demirçakmak, experienced chefs Eneş İşcan and Okan Kadir Celep participated in the event. 45 students participated in the event organised between 09.00 and 13.30 in the morning. In the workshop, students had the opportunity to get to know the basic sauces specific to Far Eastern cuisine, to understand the role of these sauces in the dishes and to apply original recipes from the region. During the practical activity, students had the opportunity to experience the cooking techniques of different cultures, receive practical information and tips from professional chefs, and improve themselves in recipe follow-up, kitchen discipline and teamwork.
This practical training made a significant contribution to the students' knowledge and skills in different gastronomy cultures.
