 GastroTech 2025, where flavour and technology meet, made a big impression in the national media


The 2nd Gastronomy Festival, organised by Istanbul Gelisim University with the theme of ‘GastroTech’, has received widespread attention in the national press with its artificial intelligence-supported applications and sustainable vision.


The 2nd Gastronomy Festival, organised by IGU on 22 May 2025, was held this year with the theme of ‘GastroTech’. The event, where technological innovations, sustainable practices and digital transformation stood out, brought together students, academics, industry professionals and gastronomy enthusiasts. GastroTech 2025, which received wide coverage in the national media, reflected the harmony of flavour and technology in an impressive way.
 
At the festival, artificial intelligence (AI) supported gastronomy applications attracted great attention. While innovative pastry products designed with AI were appreciated by the participants, the food presentations of robots amazed the audience. Robots' precise decoration techniques and real-time customer interaction skills were highlighted in the media. AI's flavour optimisation and robotic pastry presentations were widely covered in news bulletins.
 
The news in the national press were planned in line with the goals of Quality Education (SDG 4) and Responsible Production and Consumption (SDG 12), which are among the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and contributed to the realisation of a sustainable and innovative approach in gastronomy education.
