History

Our department, which is affiliated to the Faculty of Applied Sciences of Istanbul Gelişim University, started education and training in the fall semester of the 2012-2013 academic year. Our department, which currently has more than two hundred students in all classes, had its first 29 graduates in June of the 2016-2017 academic year.

 

Our department trains its students with an understanding that will make them different in their fields, depending on the development policies of our university. It continues its educational activities with an understanding that emphasizes that gastronomy is not only "cooking", but that other branches of science and art are used while performing this discipline.

 

There are full and part-time lecturers and research assistants in our department. Our students benefit from the computer laboratories, kitchen, library and all other infrastructure facilities of our university.

 

Our department, which started its life with the name Gastronomy, continues on its way as Gastronomy and Culinary Arts as a result of the decision taken by YÖK in the summer of 2020.
