 Cupcake Workshop Held in the Gastronorm Kitchen as Part of Erasmus Days


As part of İGÜ Erasmus Days, the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts organised a workshop for Erasmus+ students.


A delightful workshop was held at the Gastronorm Kitchen Laboratory on October 13, 2025, to connect students from around the world who have chosen Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) as part of the Erasmus+ Student Mobility program. The event, organized in collaboration with the IGU External Relations Coordination Office and the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, brought students from diverse cultures together in the kitchen.
 
In the workshop, led by Lecturer Didar Başgöze, Erasmus+ students had the opportunity to try cupcake recipes at stations staffed by other department students. Gathering around a shared culinary experience, the students prepared dessert recipes and had the opportunity to learn about each other's cultures. Following the workshop, the cupcakes were tasted, presented, and photographed. The event was both an educational experience and fostered intercultural interaction for the students.
 
The department faculty members who contributed to the event were Asst. Prof. Nevruz Berna Tatlısu, Lecturer Didar Başgöze and Yiğitcan Yeşil made significant contributions to the successful execution of the event. This event stood out as a step toward supporting intercultural communication and the promotion of Turkish culinary culture, in line with IGU's internationalization vision.
