 Erasmus+ Students at Gastronorm Kitchen!


The Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts of Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Applied Sciences hosted Erasmus students at the Gastronorm kitchen laboratory.


A workshop was organized on October 14, 2024 at the Gastronorm Kitchen Laboratory in order to introduce Turkish culinary culture to students who chose IGU from different countries such as Azerbaijan, Romania and France within the scope of Erasmus+ Student Mobility. In this workshop, which was held within the scope of Lecturer İbrahim Levent Demirçakmak's GSY321 coded Turkish Cuisine Applications course, Erasmus+ students had the opportunity to practice various recipes by distributing to each station where the department students were present. After the recipes of Salihli firewood meatballs and pumpkin dessert with tahini sauce belonging to Turkish cuisine were applied, the tasting part was started. At this stage, the students were informed about the points to be considered while tasting the food. Lecturer Kemal Şahanlık and kitchen technician chef Didar Başgöze helped with the application of recipes and interaction between students.
 
This event, organized in collaboration with IGU External Relations Coordination and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, contributed to intercultural interaction and the introduction of Turkish culinary culture.
