 Gökkuşağı College Students at the Gastronorm Kitchen Laboratory!


The Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department Hosted Gökkuşağı College Students at the Gastronorm Kitchen Laboratory.


The Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department of Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Applied Sciences, hosted Gökkuşağı College 3rd-year students at the Gastronorm Kitchen Laboratory on December 13, 2024. In the event, which was held with the accompaniment of class teachers, chef hats and aprons were distributed to each student who entered the kitchen laboratory. In the cupcake workshop organized under the instructorship of Chef Didar Başgöze, the students were first given verbal information about the ingredients used in cupcake making and the preparation stages. Then, the students, who were divided into groups and stations, had the opportunity to experience cupcake making step by step. Chef Didar Başgöze took one-on-one care of each student and provided support where necessary. In the event held with the New Year concept, the students decorated the cupcakes they made with their own creativity. Thanks to the event, the students; They had the opportunity to see the food production area closely, experience basic kitchen skills in practice, learn food hygiene rules and gain skills in teamwork. They also gained important gains in time management, sense of responsibility and creativity.
 
At the end of the event, Gökkuşağı College teachers and students thanked Chef Didar Başgöze and expressed their satisfaction. This enjoyable and educational event contributed to the students' learning while having fun in the kitchen and to their awareness of the gastronomy field.
