 IGU Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Academics and Postgraduate Students Were Guests at Gastronometro During the 10th Italian Cuisine Week


Istanbul Gelisim University was represented at a special event attended by Michelin-starred Chef Andrea Canton.


As part of Italian Cuisine Week, Istanbul Gelisim University Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department academics and Gastronomy Programme postgraduate students attended a special invitation organised by the Italian Consulate in collaboration with Gastronometro. Held for the fourth time this year, the event aimed to bring together the cultural and technical richness of Italian gastronomy with young aspiring chefs. Michelin-starred Chef Andrea Canton, the guest of honour at the programme, offered an inspiring experience to participants with his gastro-show, held under the theme of ‘Italian cuisine as a meeting point of health, culture and innovation’. Canton shared with the young participants the technical depth of Italian cuisine, the sensitivity in the use of ingredients and valuable tips that nourish his professional vision.
 
Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to closely observe Chef Canton's preparation stages. The subsequent question-and-answer session addressed topics related to Italian culinary culture, innovative gastronomic approaches, and professional kitchen discipline. The programme continued with a tasting of Canton's creations, offering participants a unique and educational gastronomic experience.
 
Enriched by the participation of IGU academics and students, this gathering was considered an important event contributing to the university's international gastronomy vision. Gastronometro was thanked for its kind invitation and hospitality in hosting the event.
