Istanbul Gelişim University Faculty of Applied Sciences Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department academic staff participated in two important international events in October.
Res. Asst. Cem Keskin, one of the academic staff of the department, presented his study titled “An Assessment of Samsun Culinary Culture with the Effect of Migration” orally at the 5th International Gastronomy, Tourism and Cultural Studies Symposium hosted by Ege University Çeşme Tourism Faculty in İzmir on October 10-12, 2024. In this study, he examined the effects of migration on Samsun's gastronomic culture in depth and examined the cultural transformation of the region.
In addition, Res. Asst. Cem Keskin and
Asst. Prof. Muzaffer Çakmak participated. In the congress organized in cooperation with the Tourism Faculties of Aydın Adnan Menderes University and İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University, our academic staff presented their work titled “Can the Black Sea Region Become an Apitourism Route? Rural Development and Protection of Natural Heritage through Apitourism”. This paper evaluated the apitourism potential of the Black Sea Region and addressed how apitourism can contribute to rural development and protection of natural heritage.
These participations contribute to the promotion of our faculty’s academic studies on national and international platforms.
