Double Major (ÇAP)
A double major is a program that allows a student to pursue two undergraduate or associate degree programs at the same time. The purpose of the double major program is to enable students who pursue their major programs with outstanding success to study for a degree in a second field simultaneously.
İstanbul Gelişim University offers the double major program to its students free of charge. Students with a cumulative grade point average of 2.72 out of 4.00 in their major program who rank within the top 20% of their undergraduate/associate degree program may begin a second major degree program free of charge. Students who successfully complete the double major program and qualify for two undergraduate degrees are awarded two diplomas.
Applications to double major programs in law, medicine, health programs, engineering, and architecture cannot be made from undergraduate degree programs of other faculties or schools; however, students of these faculties and schools may apply to the double major programs of other faculties and schools.
To apply to a double major program, the student must have successfully completed all credit courses in their major undergraduate/associate degree program up to the semester of application and must not have received a disciplinary penalty.

Minor
A minor is a program that allows a student, while pursuing their major program, to take a limited number of courses from another program as determined by the higher education institution. The purpose of the minor program is to enable a student enrolled in a program — provided they meet the specified requirements — to take a limited number of courses on a specific subject within another degree program at the same higher education institution and to receive a certificate (minor certificate) that does not substitute for a diploma.
At İstanbul Gelişim University, students with a grade point average of at least 2.50 and no failed courses may apply to the minor programs designated by the University Senate for that year and pursue the minor program free of charge. Students may apply to a minor program at the earliest at the beginning of the third semester and at the latest at the beginning of the sixth semester of their major undergraduate program. Applications are open to students who have successfully completed all credit courses in their undergraduate program up to the semester of application.
Students enrolled in a minor program who successfully complete both their major and minor programs receive, in addition to their major diploma, a certificate for the field in which they completed the minor.
