What is the language of instruction?
The language of instruction is English. Students whose English proficiency is not at the required level complete the English Preparatory Program before beginning their departmental courses.
Can I learn a second foreign language during the program?
Yes. The curriculum includes second foreign language courses as electives starting in the fifth semester, alongside the goal of basic-level communication skills in a third foreign language.
Does the department have an interpreting laboratory?
Yes. Practical courses in simultaneous and consecutive interpreting are conducted in the department's state-of-the-art Simultaneous Interpreting Laboratory.
Is there a compulsory internship?
Yes. Students complete a compulsory summer internship of 30 working days following the second semester. Details are provided in the “Compulsory Summer Internship” section on this page.
What career paths are open to graduates?
Graduates work as translators and interpreters in the public and private sectors, at publishing houses, media organizations, and translation agencies, as freelancers, and in language- and communication-oriented roles such as localization, foreign trade, and international relations. Graduates may also pursue academic careers through graduate study.
Can I do a double major or minor?
Yes. Students who meet the University's academic requirements may apply to double major and minor programs. Details are provided in the “Double Major and Minor” section on this page.
Can I study abroad with Erasmus+?
Yes. Students who meet the application requirements may spend part of their studies at partner universities abroad within the scope of the Erasmus+ Learning Mobility program.
